hi, how are you?

Nepotism Favoritism

Nepotism for me has impacted me very negativity since my own family hurt me outside in public. While growing up I witnessed my mother bashing me in front of her family, relatives, and friends. I never understood what she was trying to get out of bashing me! Even till today I do NOT understand what my mother got out of publicly humiliating. I always wondered how me being born with hypoxia to my brain was my fault?? Hypoxia is when you do NOT get enough OXYGEN to a certain part of your body which leads that part to getting damaged.

During my BIRTH I did NOT get enough OXYGEN to the left side of my brain which lead me to having a LANGUAGE LEARNING DISABILITY. Thus, I had a hard time learning how to communicate and understanding language while growing up. My mother blamed me for all of this my whole life. She also said I caused her pain before I was born. Now imagine being told by your mother that you are the reason behind all her problems! That is the most painful thing anyone can ever hear from their mother. People always sympathized with my mother since they ONLY heard one side of the story which was her side. They NEVER cared for my side since the culture they are from is the Indian/ Pakistani culture. In that culture people believe everything parents speak about their children even if the parents are WRONG.

Favoritism I have witnessed through my dad where even though I was willing to work with him at his HOTEL but since he had a negative and biased point view about me he NEVER gave me an OPPORTUNITY to work for him. Recently, few weeks ago the man who cleans my house was OVER cleaning our house and my brother told him “if you your daughter needs a JOB I can get my mentor to give her a JOB”. My question is that when my brother knows I need a JOB why can’t he help me find a JOB?? Does he NOT see that his OWN sister needs HELP finding a JOB?? In fact, I have a degree in Psychology and I also minored in Business Management compared to our cleaning man’s daughter who does NOT even have a degree.

I am NOT saying that I expect anything from my dad, mother, or brother. I am just saying that can they NOT see that a little support can actually help me get far?? In fact, I am NOT even asking them for any money I am just wishing that they would realize that a little help and support can get me far in life. Thus, Nepotism and Favoritism is NOT always a good thing sometime it can have negative impacts on an individual’s life.

Please Comment Below if anyone of you have anything that you have experienced that sounds similar to my story.

Thank You so much!

Sincerely,

Alia Khan

Welcome to Alia Khan’s life and professional coaching and mentoring page. A 34-year-old woman who is working on her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Business Management minor as well as now she is a certified life coach, with a mission to inspire individuals with a language learning disability (LLD) and who is associated with someone who has a language learning disability (LLD) be the best they can be. Even those dealing with a low self-esteem level and low self-confidence level. I can speak from personal experience since I have LLD. I have suffered from it my whole life not knowing why I couldn't read and write. Thus, my family and relatives always thought I was bad, rude, and making excuses not understanding that my neuro pathways work slightly different from the average brain as well as my brain is wired slightly differently due to hypoxia. This simply just means I did not get enough oxygen to my brain during my birth, which is no one's fault. Thus, the left side of my brain has brain damage. Ones I learned what my learning style was I actually gained a level of self-confidence. Plus, in my native culture, they have no awareness of how dyslexia affects an individual. I don't blame them for bullying me I blame their lack of awareness of neuropsychology. I dedicate my coaching business to my mom's teachings she has always helped and taught people to be better individuals. I owe my education to her since she encouraged me to aim for the sky and not settle for less. I help individuals with language learning disabilities (LLD) gain high self-esteem and confidence level, and professional coaching. The followers and clients will get free resources and videos every week as well as motivational affirmations.
